Thanks for letting us know. They already over charge for their vinyl at Newbury. You can usually find anything they put up elsewhere for quite a bit less. Most CD's too. And it was one thing to get a signed booklet or LP jacket. But the post card just isn't gonna cut it.

I have managed to get items from Newbury over the years that I could not get anywhere else, although that's not always the case.

I checked SM official store here https://kf-merch.com/collections/snail-mail but nothing signed, hence the NC link. For those looking for a signed item, a signed postcard - although not ideal I grant you that much - is better than nothing.

Also, I find 30 dollars for a vinyl + signed postcard quite reasonable, in stark contrast with the Billie Eilish LP sold for 37 GBP at source here in the UK. Also saw another artist selling vinyl at 36.99, I think this is the price record companies are trying to establish as the new norm, and THAT is expensive my friend.

I stand by to each their own. And am not trying to dissuade anyone. But being a vinyl (even not autographed) collector like I said Newbury is on the high end. Per your example of Billie Eilish, it is $35 on Newbury. Plus at least $5 postage. So roughly $40. You can get it at multiple places for way cheaper for the exact same version. Amazon it is $26 shipped.

There are always rules to the exception. But for most of them it is a hard pass. My point is they probably make a record from front to back for under $5. To make an extra jacket it would cost maybe a $1. A post card under a nickel. These aren't done with doing us a favor in mind. They are done to sell copies. So if you are going to charge $10 more than elsewhere they should do it right. By everyone buying into this new wave it gives then no incentive to going back to signed booklets/jackets. It used to be on Newbury getting something with a post card was 1 out of a 100 and now it is the opposite. Great if you collect them or if you just collect anything as long as it it signed. But there is a good chunk of us here that don't.

As I said there are always rules...$15 for a Billie postcard, I might bite. Someone like Snail Mail at $35 pp with a post card or $24 on Amazon without, meaning you are paying $11 for the post card. Just not enough meat on the bone. Had it been a booklet or a sleeve I probably would have bit.

I hear you. I think all collectors are going through an immense period of frustration, I for one sure am. On the one hand we get more autographed items easily available than before (but then again it was more fun collecting before!) but on the other hand prices have sometimes become ridiculous (kudos to f. i. David Gilmour & Ed Sheeran for keeping prices down for the fans) and we more often than not only get a squiggle and not a proper signature anymore. But we all have our favourite artists and I know there are some I am willing to pay well over the odds, even for a signed postcard. So anybody who's a die hard fan of Snail Mail (not me btw) or any artist posted on the forum will be happy to get the option. Not every post on this forum suits everyone, the whole point is having the choice/possibility to buy or not.

Yeah I get that which is why I always say to each their own. If I was a huge fan (or even knew who they were for that matter) I might go for it with this one. But if I was a casual fan I would probably just go the Amazon route.

I think Ed Sheeran gets it. Sell an autographed single for what a single would be sold for signed or not. Helps him on the charts. When he could actually mark them up a bit and sell quite a few but probably not as many. Smart business. As for the David Gilmour that was one of those ones where I was a day late and a dollar short. Still bums me out. Must have been all the Ebay flippers who got there before me! :)

Good luck trying to find one for $10.. if it wasn't a mistake and someone really doesn't know the market,, it would have sold extremely quick most likely within minutes, as soon as someone finds it.  Ebays sold listings cant be trusted completely. There have been errors in sold listings. Items I have watched with many days left in auction have disappeared. I look at my ended listings tab and see them marked as sold for the last bid that was placed. They were never sold though but taken off auction early. Possibly to sell outside of ebay if someone made an offer. Ebay is not perfect. Ive also noticed inconsistencies if someone sold an item accepting an offer. It does not always reflect when searching through sold listings. I like to use Ebay as a reference when hunting down an autograph I want but I usually ignore the highest and lowest sold listings for this reason.

Probably not one worth stressing out over regardless.

Probably not worth posting that other than to intentionally piss someone off.

Didn't mean to knock on musical tastes if that's how it came across. I just don't think Lindsey would be that difficult to get in person or via venue at this stage of the game, so it's probably not the worst thing to pass on something you're lukewarm on.
