Had this one checked out by Roger Epperson who said it looks fine . Then it failed a Beckett quick opinion …I’ve previously had one failed by Beckett’s full inspection that Roger has guaranteed is genuine along with many other reliable people .

my question is has anyone else had bad experiences with Buckley and Beckett ?

Obviously I value Roger’s experience and opinion in music over there’s .

I don't know about the autograph itself but I have found that Beckett quick opinions are not worth a plug nickel. I've had positive quick opinions from them that failed when I submitted to them for a full authentication and failed quick opinions on signatures that have passed. I don't use them for quick opinions anymore.

+1

I have used Beckett quick opinion signature reviews several in the past.  I'm in agreement with Joe W. above.  On a couple of occasions I've simultaneously submitted an item to both them and PSA's version of quick opinion...and have had contradictory opinions given.

I personally now find it muddies the waters in attempting to access an item.

Was Roger's opinion a Quick Opinion as well or a full exam and cert? I see, a QO. I don't think anyone guarantees anything from a quick glance at a scan.

At least, with Roger, you know who is looking at your signature. With that said, if Roger's quick opinion is positive, send it in and get the paperwork.

I will be doing .

Twice they’ve let me down with Buckley’s .
I’ve used them for more common autographs but they really don’t help themselves denying anything they’re not 100000% sure On.

it’s exactly what was stated above , with Roger You know it’s him looking at it .

I've found Gary King to be very knowledgeable and helpful yoo .

Roger’s was just the quick opinion .

I value his opinion over theirs 100% as he has the actual knowledge and experience when it comes to Jeff and music related items. I have had a Buckley go in for full authentication and denied by Steve Grad but Roger looked at that and guaranteed me it was genuine !

I then made it my mission to get as many people to check it out as I could .

Jeff’s family members and friends have told me it’s without doubt authentic .

what I’m really trying to get at is how Beckett go about their quick opinions ?

If you were to ask me I would say they take one example and if it’s not an exact replica they deny it .

This post was never to doubt Roger more to find out people’s experience with Beckett .

safe to say I won’t  be using again .

Roger has been my go to for a good few years and I’ve never been let down .

"...Roger looked at that and guaranteed me it was genuine !..."

From another QO?

"...

Jeff’s family members and friends have told me it’s without doubt authentic ..."

Not a good source.

Don't place so much value on Quick Opinions. For example, Quick Opinions and Pre-certs are not allowed to be used to assist a sale in the upcoming new Buy/Sell/Trade Forum - no matter who they come from.

I think I missed that as a condition in using the upcoming forum.  I'm playing devil's advocate here:  Why is that not allowed?

Some might make the point there is added credibility to a given piece if it has a positive quick opinion in addition to a seller and other members' opinions (as even more important as those are, of course).

It’s a service for a reason.

Ive generally only had positive interactions where Roger and Gary King are concerned …their knowledge is far superior than mine .

it’s the big corporations that don’t warrant it as it could be any Tom , Dick of Harry giving it one glance .

There is the very Recent All Things Must Pass thread. Pre-cert was incorrect.
