You can file police report: theft by fraud. Everyone should do that when they're sold a definite fake and the refund is refused. You can give us their info, including eBay name (like you have), PayPal address and real name and address and we can publish it on our site.

That's something we should have started doing a while ago.

You may not get your money back, but in the long run you'll be helping the entire hobby.

Isn't his address available in PayPal?

since you bought something from this seller, request his information via the ebay contact information on the transaction.  it will provide you with mailing information as well as the phone number being used.  If any of that is bogus it could help the cause.

I noticed that in some of the earlier sales it indicated location of Lincolnton North Carolina,   More disturbing is I'm not seeing any negative feedback on this transaction either.  The only rating of interest would be a "neutral" and that is over the debate of a card bing Mnt or NM.

Once you have the contact information you either 1. call or 2. follow-up with an email and indicate your intentions including upto negative feedback if that becomes necessary.

sorry to hear that you were taken.  you can start here:

I just searched the user ID bravezn12 on eBay and no results appeared.  I agree.  It is very frustrating.  I think that eBay protects you for 45 days but PayPal may cover you as well for a longer period of time.  Also contact your credit card company and explain what happened.

Looks like he opened shop in May and is currently not selling any items so he may have closed shop.  He sold a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle RC for $709 after mentioning in the listing that he doesn't know a lot about vintage cards, never removed it from the case and that it may even be a reproduction.  It doesn't look like there is any feedback left for that particular item.  Unbelieveable.

What do you mean they laugh at you? Did they admit they knew the items were bad?
If he admits to fraud in writing, I'd file a police report and a report with the postal inspectors.

Did you file a claim with Ebay ? They have helped me get refunded several times from guys who have attempted selling fakes. Have you stayed in contact with him by email on Ebay because they will use this as a record to go back over and look at each others responses, give them a chance trust me they WILL help get your money back, btw how long has it been ?

Sorry I just read your response and it was in May I see , I would still file a complaint with Ebay and Paypal but don't hesitate.

Legal Action?   How much did you spend and how much more do you want to invest in lawyers?   EBAY & PAYPAL have very rigid filing deadlines and filing online, at times, won't even be processed if it is beyond their "filing timetables".  Reaching them by person is even worse but that is a way to go especially if you are beyond the deadlines...  they have made exceptions but you need to be a squeeky wheel.

filing with the FBI Internet usually leads to nowhere unless there are big $$ and is part of another case.  Same can be said for the postal services.   They are equally useless;

nonetheless, it will help with the anger of getting took...as well as give you a first hand lesson in how all these agencies in place to support consumers are very lacking.   The first two steps will require solid documentation not just a he said, he said.  The Cops taking action are almost as useless in most instances.

Contact your local and state police department and file complaints.

Contact THEIR local and state police departments and file complaints.

These first few steps you may find difficult as in most cases the police aren't prepared to handle such calls as most people don't call in on such things but again, it's important you do this because the more people that do, the more serious this becomes and regardless, there needs to be a paper trail of complaints against these criminals for you to ever consider getting your money back.

File a complaint with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

File an online report: http://www.ripoffreport.com

File a complaint with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

File a mail-fraud complaint with the USPS: https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx

File a complaint with the National Fraud Information Center:  http://www.fraud.org/info/contactnfic.htm

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau http://www.bbb.org

If you used a PAYPAL Credit card on the PP account then notify them ASAP... You might still be under the window as the CC is a different avenue that EBAY's PayPal operation.  The CC is issued by a bank.

Please do not put anything on facebook. Even if it is this person. We have spoken to him over the phone about a half hour ago and are going to try and work things out. So hopefully this can be put behind us
