Hi,
I have a very bold signature of Walt Disney....Possibly from the 1950's.
Phil Sears has looked at it and said...He cant see a problem with it.
I am looking to sell it but dont know how much I should sell it for.
Anyone know current values please.
Thanks ....Martin
P.S. There is a photo of on my home page.

Hey martin, i posted previously when you were wondering who the autographs were, i told you it was Ava Gardner. I honestly dont know how much Disney autographs are going for but i have seen sellers list them on ebay for $1000 to $2000 but they dont seem to sell. im guessing some of the veterans of this site would know better then myself what the worth. its a very nice autograph (if authentic) and you should try and get it authenticated unless you are wanting to sell it as its! good luck!

Hi Ricky,

I have had Phil Sears look at the signature and he said he cant see a problem with it and that he feels it is from the 1950's. The autograph before Walt Disneys is dated 1956, so I think he is right about it coming from the 50's. It is a very bold signature and a very flowing autograph. I have not seen one better. I want £1000 for it but am open to offers....However, I am in no hurry to sell it. It will only go up in price, as the years go on.

it is a great autograph but if i were you i would get it authenticated by one of the top parties if you are wanting to sell it for that amount. or if you can get Mr. Sears opinion on paper. just my opinion! good luck selling it!

i don t know if printing that up as a coa would be the best thing but overall a 3rd party coa would prob be the best bet to attract buyers. i have seen many autographs from Disney on ebay previously for over $1000 not sell because there was no specific coa from PSA or JSA. but you stating phils opinion prob will help. a lot of collectors trust those 2 3rd party authenticators so getting it certified by them will prob help greatly in selling the item. good luck!

If you're serious about buying a Disney sig, you should know that Sears is the way to go, much more so than JSA/PSA. He simply knows Disney much better than both of them. With that said, I would cough up the cash for a full Sears LOA if you're interested in getting the most for it. Even auction houses like RR and Sanders include Sears COAs when available, and I think that increases the closing bid.

Martin

JXE is right on about a Sears LOA/COA.

JSA and PSA haven't got a clue when it comes to many entertainment signatures.

Right now a Disney Signature like yours goes for about $1000 -$1150 retail.

A Sears COA will bring piece of mind to a educated buyer of Disneyana.

But I believe the Retail price will remain the  same
