It's with great sadness that I see comedy legend Sid Caesar has passed away today at the age of 91!  Like any fans of classic comedy Caesar would always bring a smile to your face. Dig out that copy of 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad ,Mad World' or Mel Brooks 'Silent Movie' and remember the great man!

Sid Caesar was great. It's a shame some of these classic comedy icons are largely unknown by the younger generations. 95% of today's "hot" comics are not fit to shine Sid Caeser's shoes. Mad mad mad world was pure genius and one of the greatest comedy ensembles ever!

I totally agree. I'm surprised they haven't remade 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' instead of persuading the younger generations to watch the originals! I recently lent a friend of mine Peter Sellers 'The Party' and his 11 year old son, thought it was too slow to watch. maybe if David Spade remade it!!??

Uh-oh, I'm sounding like a grumpy old man...I'll stop now...

I hear you. Very little respect for those who came before these days.

Sid Caesar was a true comic genius and i agree is he sadly unknown to most under the age of 45.   If a television show is in black and white it is nearly impossible to get younger people to watch it.   In my view his 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' role was one of his best.  It is sad to think there is no way to get the complete version of that movie since the most complete version is the VHS format but even that is cut.

Tell me about it. Recently watched Godzilla on Netflix with my kids. They spent half the time  complaining about the black and white. So frustrating.
