It took 47 years but I finally got that wiley Rascal (Gene Cornish, that is)

In 1966 when I was 13 years old I went to see the Young Rascals in Rochester, NY, my very first concert. After the show the band passed out photo cards and they were signing from the stage. I got Dino, Eddie and Felix, but not Gene Cornish who is from Rochester. All these years I dreamed of getting that space filled in on my card and 47 years later I did when I saw the re-united Rascals in San Francisco on October 12, 2013. I spotted Gene's fiancee just before intermission, but she said she was leaving and wouldn't be back. Darn! So after the show I waited with some other fans outside the stage door for quite a while. First Dino came out and a few minutes later I spotted Gene from a distance. I told him my story, he signed my card and finally I had the missing Rascal! That Rochester show on June 19, 1966 was Gene's first show with the Young Rascals in his hometown. The photos are the card as it was in 1966, then in 2013 after Gene signed it. There's also a photo of a poster from the 1966 show and even a picture I took of Gene in 1966! Now if I only still had Felix's tie which he tossed out into the audience and I caught so many years ago!

I have had some projects going on for over 20 years and I was finally able to get my Rainbow record complete and last year I got an original line up of Kiss complete after 22 years!

So never give up, unless the person is no longer with us. Great Story!
