The story goes like this: Once upon a time there are two brothers living in a little village in New Jersey an both are unbelievable big fans of The Beatles. One day they decided to travel around the world to meet all four guys to get a complete set of autographs.  They only took two items of the White Album onto the long journey due to oversize and weights having problems at the customs and airports possibly. Before start both denied to ask for autographs only meeting the Beatles sitting anywhere to get clean, readable and complete written-out signatures. (Incomplete sigs and written in hurry or similar situations will refused!). A big deal was the meeting with John Lennon asking to add a doodle with his beloved wife Yoko and he did twice, knowing that there was a break at that time. The guys from N.J. didn't realize that both doodles once would be the rarest ever of 1973. After completing the 2 sets they went home again and they lived happily ever after.....

Another funny story just found at the same auction of TRACKS and don't want to comment. Maybe you find the difference between the two photos:

And TRACKS Auction:

A 1989 re-issue of Paul McCartney’s 1976 album Wings At The Speed Of Sound that has been signed on the front cover by Paul McCartney in blue felt tipped pen. Unusually Paul McCartney has signed his full name “James Paul McCartney”. The felt tipped pen did not take to the high gloss sleeve too well which has resulted in some slight ink loss in places. The sleeve has pin holes in each corner. Condition is very good.

Estimate £500 to £600

What a rarity someone helped Paul to create.

On the website of Tracks you'll find this company: http://www.restorationbyjm.com/ I think it means nothing....

As with photography, you can no longer trust your eyes.

On the one where the "To" is now missing, if you blow that one up, it looks to me like the To was there, and maybe someone was trying to remove the personal inscription??  (probably wasn't working as well as they thought so maybe stopped??? - there is a tinge of blue ink left where the "o" was)  I don't know that for sure though, just making an observation.

That's what I mean! A serious dealer has to check autographs and writings in a professional way and it's inexplicable they didn't notice the additional blue signs or marks. The question is who tried to remove the "To". I have two ideas....

Well honestly, if I owned a piece - and it was personalized, if I could get it off without it showing up, I would too (unless it was to my name lol)
