Jim,

Your documentary features Myron Ross of Heroes and Legends autographs. Ross is well known as a major supplier of forged autographs, particularly music and entertainment, but also space. We kicked him out of Autograph Collector Magazine back in 2004-5, and the UACC kicked him out of their Registered Dealer program shortly thereafter.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the note!

You or someone else in the group had mentioned something before and as I said then I don't really haven't bought much of anything from him, except a couple of signed contracts, and I'd been careful moving forward. Just to let you know, and I may have already told you,  I've never asked him to authenticate any thing for me. And I've only heard good things about Myron, but I don't have all the facts, so I won't challenge what you say. Although of course it would be great to have some evidence of wrong doing since I've only heard good things.

So I hope you understand my situation and I invite you to watch the video and and I think you'll see that there's nothing inappropriate said or presented presented in the video. I do know there's unfortunately a lot of "bad" stuff sold, especially on ebay, but as you'll see this video is about collecting autographs and presents some of the celebs I'd met, worked with, directed, etc.

I've only seen Myron over the years at the Hollywood Collectors Shows. I think I may have mentioned I have had a coupe of instances where he sold some autograph stuff for an advertising friend of mine who was very happy working with him.

When a Production Company approached me asking if they could shoot a documentary about autograph collecting and my collection they wanted to have someone with me to play off of and asked if I knew anyone in the autograph business and I mentioned Myron and he fit the bill because he's been an autograph collector and is also a dealer who's now even the offical authenticator on the TV show "Beverly Hills Pawn."

Thank you again and it's a good reminder to be extra careful!

All the best, Jim

The videos are quite good. We can't discreated your collection because of Myron. He may have started off in the industry with good intentions but over the years had to make a living which may have put him in precious situations.
I personally believe the hobby itself is in jepurdy. When authenticators are hitting and missing authentic autographs then dealing with forgeries, it's a hobby I'm happy to live without.
It's fine when everyone agrees on a item. We used to live in an age when a man's word was good enough as a contract but not these days. In person collectors can't even get their items authenticated, it's ridiculous.
It's the day and age we need to draw up legal contracts to buy and sell were half way there already.

well stated Paul

Thank  you Paul!

I like your post! I've been pleasantly surprised with some supported and wrote them and thought I'd share with you:

Got to tell you I'd never heard any of this problem with Myron Ross before I became a member of this group and I really didn't anything about any need to "clear his name" or something like that was said.

They may be correct about the Fleetwood Mac Album, because I never had it authenticated and may go so far as to see if they can edit that out of the video without too much trouble.

I did have someone here run a little test asking about the authenticity of an autograph and "they" thought it look "bad" and "not good" which, because I collected the autograph in person I know it's good. Kind of funny, but kind of sad, too.

All I know is that Myron Ross is still in business, and he's even the current official authenticator on the TV show "Beverly Hills Pawn."

If someone here thinks or has proof, that Myron knowingly sells forgeries they ought to purchase something and then turn him in for mail fraud or whatever one does. I've personally seen no evidence here or anywhere, but there certainly may be some, I've just never had any problem with him and other than what I've heard here on this website, I hadn't heard any bad-mouthing of him.

I don't know if I'm correct, but I got the sense that I've met more celebs and personally gotten more autographs than the majority of the folks here. But, all I heard was I was showing "a bunch of forgeries" in the video... I'd be interested in someone naming a couple of the "bunch of forgeries" they think they saw! But of course they can't, because there aren't!

Actually, I'm now wondering if they're questioning me directing Orson Welles and maybe it's just photoshop? Or if I retouch myself in with Buzz Aldrin, Rondal Reagan, Dolly Parton, Warren Beatty or Evel Knievel? I wouldn't put it past them. Once again, not all that surprising, but kind of sad.

Hope all's well with you and yours!

Jim

Jim,

Myron Ross and Heroes and Legends has been known in the autograph hobby for long time as a notorious source of forgeries. I kicked him out of Autograph Collector Magazine as an advertiser in 2004-2005, not long after I bought the company. Why would I remove a paying advertiser if I felt they were reputable?

He was also kicked out of the UACC Registered Dealers program for selling forgeries.. any explanation for that Jim?

His website also has a ton of forgeries.  Theres a dozen threads posted here and other forums

In your video the Fleetwood Mac and Eagles albums are forgeries.  I stopped watching there so I'm sure there's others.  I'm assuming Myron has something to do with those.  If you really are as passionate about this hobby as you claim to be, stop defending him and man up to it.

Hi Mike, I'll respond to your comments in CAPS

The guy admits he is good friends with one of the largest sellers of forgeries in the hobby, and he posts a video showing a bunch of forgeries in his collection (what a surprise). We are not ridiculing him, simply questioning what his motive here on this site is trying to befriend everyone.>>

I really was totally unaware of any issues at all until I joined this website, that's the truth whether you want to believe it or not, that's up to you. I only know Myron form seeing him and his wife marilyn at the Hollywood Shows and the producers who asked to do the video about my collection asked if I knew anyone and I mentioned Myron and they set it up and we did the video and I think he worked well for the shoot, we just winged it and even the story about buzz aldrin, he didn't know I'd ever met Buzz but it played well off his buzz aldrin refusing autographs story, don't you think? I invite you to watch the rest of the video and as I've already written:

"They may be correct about the Fleetwood Mac Album, because I never had it authenticated and may go so far as to see if they can edit that out of the video without too much trouble. I did have someone here run a little test asking about the authenticity of an autograph and "they" thought it looked "bad" which, because I collected the autograph in person I know it's in deed "good."

You wrote:

I didn't know that until Steve here mentioned ti and the video was shot over a year ago, well before discovering the "Live Autograph Magazine" website and group.

His website also has a ton of forgeries.  Theres a dozen threads posted here and other forums>>

I was totally unaware of that, you may be absolutely correct, but I hadn't seen or read anything along those lines, until this website.

In your video the Fleetwood Mac and Eagles albums are forgeries.  I stopped watching there so I'm sure there's others.  I'm assuming Myron has something to do with those.>>

So Mike, you 'assume' that "Myron has something to do with those."

Well, as you may have heard what happens when we "Assume" anything. He did not and DOES NOT have anything to do with ANY of my autographed LPs. Period.

If you really are as passionate about this hobby as you claim to be, stop defending him and man up to it."

As I've written:

"If someone here thinks, or has proof, that Myron knowingly sells forgeries they ought to purchase something and then turn him in for mail fraud or whatever one does. I've personally seen no evidence here or anywhere, but there certainly may be some, I've just never had any problem with him and other than what I've heard here on this website, I hadn't heard any bad-mouthing of him."

Mike that's the truth, and nothing but the truth. As I said I will now plan on having them re-edit the video because you may well be 100% correct.

However, I challenge you to take the time and watch the rest of the video, or even just some of the individual segments, and tell me even one thing you think is incorrect, or false or a forgery! Even one thing you think it "wrong" or "bad" or a forgery," moving forward in the video! I'll be interested in seeing what you have to say.

Mike, I feel badly things have gotten people's "panties in a bunch," because I think you'll have to agree and will see I qualify as a avid, long time, "passionate" autograph collector.

I'm hoping we can get past this and I do want to be friends with as many of these great fellow autograph collectors as possible.

Regards, Jim Hallowes

What PROOF do you need????? I just outlined the proof! Look at all the people here telling you this guy is a crook!  As long as you are featuring Myron in your discussions and videos I will not take you seriously, nor should anyone else.

yeah because that bozo Ross authenticated a clearly fake signed Beatles butcher cover that he told Josie he values for 60,000 LOL. It was worthless as they ruined a perfectly good Beatle album cover. He seems to love to vouch for Clearly FAKE ALBUMS. LOL AND Drew Maxxipad was on Pawn Stars too AND If you show me a real autograph that he has authenticated, I'll show you the "ONLY ONE" I have ever seen. Just because the dupe is on TV means ZERO.

Your videos are a great way to share your autographs to others along with the stories of how you obtained them. You have been fortunate to have had access to those opportunities. Keep your passion.

Today's technology is a double edged sword. There are those who exploit it for personal gain in an immoral way. On the other hand, it is easier for them to be exposed for who they are.

It still comes down to each individual to be held accountable. A true collector or seller will make some mistakes along the way but will use that experience to become better and more skilled. Those who take the time to educate themselves will come out all the better for it. It's up to them to learn how to separate the wheat from the chaff.
