Most Difficult Band/Musician to obtain an in person signature

By far, in my opinion, it is the current line up of the EAGLES. Long gone are the days of the 1980's when these guys though still very moody, and difficult, at least signed something. Don Henley even took part at a KLSX signing show, during that stations rock hey day at the Bonaventure Hotel, if you can believe it. Like the unicorn and a mermaid, those days all seem now like an ancient myth. Joe Walsh, being perhaps the lone exception ( especially when away from the other 3 ) is much more generous, however Schmit, Henley and Frey is all but a waste of your very valuable time. ( I could easily go on and on, but my mother told me if I don't have anything nice to say, .......well, you know the rest ).

the most difficult person is gene simmions from kiss he only signs for women
Hi Sean, please know that Gene Simmons signs a TON of autographs, and takes part in very many book signings, and in store record signings year after year after year. He actually has a very long history of signing for fans of both sex. I have to respectfully disagree with you..............

He also offers signed guitars on his web site (not cheap, but yet he does offer them).

I agree with Stephen on this one Gene was at a Mall near me a while back selling his cologne and he signed for hours the bottles of cologne but while walking to his car he signed albums and magazines for people. It was a crowd following him but if you got your item in front of him he signed it. I got 3 that day and they were great signatures. Gene can be tough on tour but he makes up for it off tour.

Speaking of the 'lil devils: Paul and Gene are signing tomorrow night at B&N in L.A. @ 7:00pm.
( same time Ringo gets his star on Vine Street)
i also have an interesting story with some of the band memebers of the eagles, actually two different stories, i live in minnesota and was outside of the hotel they stayed when they were on the road about 5 -7 years ago, this was the day after the show, i saw timothy b schmidt come out and i walked up to him to ask him to sign an autograph he politely did and asked me what my name was personalizing it to me, about 20 minutes later joe walsh came out and walked right over to me and signied for me, he was also nice, i sat there hoping to see don henley or glenn frey and still hadnt, well at this point timothy schmidt came walking back over and said that he hoped i wasnt waiting on don or glen, i said i was and he told me that they had flown back out to chicago the night before right after the concert, he said he didnt want me to waste my time waiting for them, i thanked him and left, my next time i tried was sometime during there most recent tour, none of them would even look at us at any particular time, there were 2 of us outside of the hotel, so ive had both sides of them in person, glenn frey is definitely the hardest autograph to get
Thanks for sharing Michael.

Each of the current member line up of Eagles, and Don Felder too, are really a Jeckle/Hyde scenario. Each member really can be quite funny, entertaining, conversational (especially Joe Walsh!!!!), but equally and more often are so ugly when it comes to autograph requests. I get the fact that they, collectivally, are so against autograph seekers that sell their signature. I fully understand(thats a no brainer to comprehend). However, this idea that "EVERYONE" that asks them for a signature is a dealer is simply ludicrous. I have more Eagles autographs than most and am living proof that this simply isn't the case. I have been in packs of requesting fans. I do not have any type of devine mystic power, but am pretty good at distinguishing real fans from the paparazzi autograph chasers (especially here in L.A.), when we all have been together waiting at a location for a while.

(Don Felder was REALLY very very nice during his book signing tour, but could have helped the cause of fans requesting his autograph, by being willing to sign just one item per book, or 1 item total per fan, of memorabilia during his book signing. He may have sold more books too. Fancy that concept...)

These members were much more willing to sign during their solo years (1982-1993), but since the comeback, holy baloney have they not just become unwilling, but down right rude(except for Joe Walsh). If they truly don't want people making money off their signature, then they should either not sign anything, or expand their website to include pre signed items OR do a paid convention in selected towns. Something is better than nothing.

Seemingly, you can't be one of the worlds largest selling and most popular bands and expect to not be asked where ever you go for an autograph. Yet, to be so judgmental and blanket so many innocent requesting fans into the "autograph dealer" catagory, is a pretty large leap. I know no celeb can sign for everyone. There isn't enough hours in a year, .........but the Eagles want it all in their favor with respect to requesting fans. They need to meet fans at a middle fence and simply Take It Easy.
i agree with you, even maybe once a year they could have some kind of thing where people can pay a flat fee and either go to or send there stuff to be autographed, then when they are on the road they can even say we are having a show later on in the month send it there or go there. the eagles remind me of someone coming up to me and asking me for change on the street, no matter what the guy says or what kind of excuse he gives when asking for the change i know im never going to give him any, the eagles seem to have turned this way about autograph seekers, no matter what the person says or does nowadays the person is out to get them and is going to sell the autograph somehow
