"+1 I would say "unquestionable" more than "solid". But perhaps the poster has concerns about autopen? I can't envisage Newman engaging in such a scam but it is not an unreasonable enquiry, sadly."

"Ditto - never seen anything like that before but I wouldn't rule it out for that reason. If it is contemporary then I would guess there are not too many examples available for comparison. The John Mayall does not appeal to me - his is a lovely…"

"Nil points! Zero. That was the year internet bookselling took off, pretty much and I believe they were all gone within 12 months - all to the U.S. as I remember. The last 2 or 3 copies were fetching £250 - you would do well to get that now."

About Me

What kind of member are you? (Check as many as apply.)
Collector, Dealer, Other Professional
What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.
Collector and catalogue/internet bookseller since 1990. I chose to become interested in signed books from the beginning because very few others seemed to specialize in these at that time.

Although it is a fairly commonplace business model nowadays

With the very notable exceptions of Stephen King and Cormac McCarthy I believe I have personally obtained in-person autographs from the vast majority of the most prominent authors of the past 30 years including winners of the Nobel prize for literature. Many of these encounters have been the most fascinating or memorable experiences in my working life and I feel privileged to have had them.
